I have decided I need to cut back on how many horses I have. I would like to do some showing and I just do not have time or money for them all. This was such a hard decision but I know I can't have every thing.
It looks like I sold BlackJack to some one in Canada. I am sure in the next couple of weeks after the health certificate/coggins are done they will come pick him up. I think he will be the hardest one for me to see go. I had such big plans for him. He is really my best riding horse. He also is so fast when he is in shape. I am sure I will cry when they pick him up. It sounds like he will have a good home and that is very important.
I will miss him dearly....
If I am able to sell BlackJack and Red I will be able to put up a 24 by 32 barn this spring. This will give me 3 box stalls and a tack/grain room. It will be so nice to have a barn with water and electricity. It will also be warmer. This also will be easier having all my tack/brushes and grain in my barn so I am not lugging everything from house to the horses and then back the house.

Surpise!

My Dee girl is breed! I had the vet check her aweek or 2 ago. She should foal around May/June 2006. If it is a filly I can keep it and if it is a colt I have to sell it. I just hope Dee will not have any troubles and the foal is alive and healthy when its born.

Horse pics of friends and family

Here are my Sisters and My mom horses. They are rescued pmu horses they adopted from prism(a pmu adoption organization). The horses came in ruff shape but they have really starting filling out and looking good.

Here is my freind Sharon and her horse Merry. They have come a long ways in thier training.. Good Work!

snikers

Snikers is my best and favorite horse. I have raised him since he was a yearling. He is not reall tall but we make a good pair because I am not either...
I am hoping to use him for western riding events in the spring. May be team penning or western pleasure if he is quit enough. He has a really nice trot and jog.
11/04/05 update I am hoping to stud him out in 2006 to a couple of mares for $200 stud fee plus mare care.
I have rode him 2 times this past week and he learns stuff so fast! He is starting to ride really nice. Nice smooth trot and gallop. I would love to try him on some cows or do some light gymkhana or barrel racing work next yr.

Black AQHA mare WhatA Obvious Lady
I had owned her for a yr and gave her to some one. Which in turned sold her to some nice people in Brandon, VT. This mare had problems with being lame on he fornt leg. She had also coliced on me 1 time. Vet was not sure why. She had no blockage just a belly acke.

Sorrel AQHA Lady By Design
Georgous halter mare. I would loved to raise foals out of her.
11/6/05 update I can not tell if she got breed in June or not. I might have to have the vet come and check. She looks like she is starting to have a pregnat belly look...

My dream farm is starting to fall apart

I am so tired and stressed I have decided to sell 2 of beloved horses. Its so hard to decided because you do not want to give up any of them but they are not getting the attention they deserve. By the time I get done taking care of them I do not have time or energy to brush them or ride. I sucks haveing to lug water from the house to the barn, which is around 600ft from the house. I also do not even have eletricty near the barn and it makes it so hard to do chorse when I get home at 8:45pm.
I really would like to keep my barrel horse because I had my heart set on running him in barrel compitions next spring. I can not ride them all and I have a 3yr old QH stud I have raised and I am training. I also have a 4yr old QH mare that I am going to be working with when I can make the time. She has been abused and has some fright issues. I am hoping to breed her with my stud in another 2 yrs. We also have my husbands trail horse that any body can ride buy he is pooky and is surly no speed horse........
Maybe once we have a good barn with electricty and water things will be a lot easier in a couple of years. I quess my dream horse farm will have to go on hold for a couple of years...

BlackJack

This pic is of Blackjack of last winter Dec 2004. Sorry about him being a little dirty in the pics, had to take them quick so did not have time to brush him. He also muscles up well when worked regularly. In theses pics he has not been worked much so he does not have as much muscle.
He has a heart of gold when it comes to running barrels and gives you all he has. Which he is very fast and snapy. I really think he loves to do it seeming how he gives 110% every time.
11/4/05 update
I tried a used saddle I bought for my QH stud on him and doubled saddle blanket him. What a difference! He settle right down and could get what ever speed I wanted from him..walk trot slow and fast gallop! He has a lot more Whooa to him. I must have been killing his back with the other saddle! It makes me hate to sell him but I still lack the time and $...Ohoohh I wish I could keep him. What a great horse! $2300 obo to good home

Horses update

I hope my Desing by Money mare is breed and will foal in June. So far cross my fingers I have not seen her come into a heat cycle yet.
Snikers is still lame and I am going to have to seperate him from the other horses. He is such a sweet heart for being a stud still.

Lena we bought in the end of May 2005 in Mass. This is a picture of her in Mass when we first went to look at her. She has put on more weight and is so pretty. Right now she is a little bossy but we are working on that. I have not had mush time to put into her so far. I am hopeing to make her and my stud my #1 priority in training and have them ready to show in the spring.

Our First Gymkhana

BlackJack and me at our first Gymkhna in June at the NWRDC. We only did 2 events and were DQ both times. He triped the second time and hurt his back ankle so we went home early.
He wants to just run barrels and I can't blame him thats what he is trained for and seems to love it.

A little about my working to be horse farm and horses

I have a small QH horse farm in VT. It is a working progress but maybe some day I can make it a full time job. We just finally bought our own place this spring with 20 arces. We have a lot to do before winter. We have a 12 by 39 ft runin that we are converting into a barn. We have to add another 20 ft so we can add 2 more box stalls. It will take a lot of work but its something I am willing to work towards.
I have a 3 year old QH stud I am saddle training. He is a bay and stands 14.2 hands. He is progressing good for the time I have put in to him. He does not act study at all and is pastured with a gelding and mare but is the low horse on the pole. I have not as much time into him as I wanted yet but maybe after we get caught up on things around the house and barn.
I also have a Barrel horse name BlackJack. He is black and is around 11yrs old, 15.1 hands. He is trained to do barrel racing but I am trying to get him to do gymkhana to. I have had him for a year and just started to take him to shows. He is very fast but not a lot of whoa on him. If any one has a problem like this could they give me some idears how to try to fix it?? I use a twisted snaffle in him right now.
I also have a QH mare that is performance/cow horse breeding. She is a bay, stands 15 hands and is 4 years old. She has had reining training and I have a lot to learn from her. I have had her for 2 months.
I just started riding her because when I first got her she ran threw the eletric fence. The worst part was she had been abused by people and did not have much trust in them. So she would not come to people or grain. She would not even come to another horse. She took of running up the road and then turned into the woods. The bad part is that we live near the Canadian border and she had crossed the border. I saddle my barrel horse up and followed her tracts. I caught up to her after following her tracts for 6 hrs threw steep rough terrain woods. I had to pretend I was a horse eating and slowly kept getting closer to her. Finally I got close enough that I could reach her halter and I grab hold of her halter. I scared the crap out of her for a few seconds but luckily I did not let go of her. Good thing I brought my cell phone with be because I was not positive which way was home. Luckily my husband had followed our tracks and he was in hollering distance. He is suppose to be a deer hunter and he lost 2 sets of horse tracks and I followed only one.....HA..ha.. He had sat his GPS before crossing the border so it was easy to go straight back the way we came. Thank god because it was getting dark. At 8:00pm we were finally home.... We at least I did not get in real big trouble for crossing the border with out permission first. The US side were nice and understanding about it but the Canadian side had a young guy on duty and he was a little bit of a prick. I think he wanted to feel like he was a big man and in control. The following day I notice the mare had cut her back ankle pretty deep. It has been 1 1/2 months and its almost all healed. The vet said I can start riding her.
I just rode her this past wed. I saddled her up and as soon as the girth tightened around her she started bucking! I was wondering what I might have got my self into for a second. I tried her were I bought her from in Mass and she rode good. I tried another saddle on her and she was fine. The other saddle had a neoprene girth and I think it scared her. I rode her with a cloth girth and she rode great. I am so pleased with her and can't wait to ride her again.
I also have a Gorgeous halter broodmare with a lot of muscle that so far has been a pasture ordiment. She is a 10 yrs old QH sorrel and is around 15.2 hands. She is not been handle much until I got her and I have had her for 2 years. She is not saddle broke but has a excellent pedigree and would raise some exceptional halter foals. I have wanted to breed her for a early foal but nothing seems to work out as planed. My stud is more cow breed and I wanted to breed her to a good halter stud. I am hoping to breed her to a good halter stud and raise gorgeous babies out of her. My barn will not be ready for early foaling/breeding for another year or two.
We also have a QH horse gelding name Red. He is 5 yrs old, around 15.1 hands and a sorrel. He is my husbands horse and is more of a beginner/pokier horse.
